Why  Putty  is  Better than Slime

Putty is somewhat better than slime because some slime recipes

include borax and it can ruin your skin. Secondly, as you may have

heard from another document slime is full of glue! Glue is made

of natural gas and other raw materials found in nature, and

eventually we will run out of the natural materials. In addition,

store bought slime may have chemicals that aren't safe if you

decide to put it in your mouth.(don’t put in mouth!!)

                           Putty  recipe  without  glue

3/4 cup of cornstarch and cornflour
1/2 cup of of dish soap.
Add the cornstarch and cornflour to a bowl.
Add the dish soap to the cornstarch and cornflour, mix until it is well combined.
Add shaved pastel if you’re wanting some color.

you are that it can be used as stress relievers, fun stretchy

slime-like consistencies, and awesome presents for kids.  Why

is this thing so good and awesomely amazing? Well,I believe

that it is because people love the satisfying stretch of the jiggly

goodness.  But if you are like some people, than you will not

like sticky, slimy, jiggly, satisfying putty and you might not like

to go through the process of elimination just to find out that

the putty recipe that you choose does not turn out the way that

you expected. If that is happening to you constantly then stop,

get some help.

        Slime or Squishies

Do people prefer slime or squishies better? I am doing a paper on this because I love both slime and squishies and I would like to see what the people at school like better. These are two of the top craves. Slime is a sticky and gooey substance that kids all over the world play with. It is made mostly of glue. Squishies are like stress balls but in different forms like a sheep, fruit, panda, and ice cream.Then you squeeze them and they slowly come unsqueezed. Let's see which is more popular.

What team will make it to the

Super Bowl 52 !!?

Grant: Guys, I think that the Vikings will go to the Superbowl. No doubt about it.

Brian: I have some confidence in the New England Patriots, not the Vikings.

Grant: Bro, there is no way that the Patriots are going to the Superbowl again. Vikings are going to the superbowl like I said.

Memphis: No, there's no way that the vikings are going to the Super Bowl nor the Saints.The Broncos will.

Julius: The Saints will make the Super Bowl because their running backs have been unstoppable,the 5th best passing offense, and they have a wonderful defense. They're ranked 12th, but I think they should be ranked higher.   

Harry: I think the Eagles will make the Super Bowl because LeGarrette Blount, Alshon Jeffery, Carson Wentz, Jay Ajayi, Dorial Green-Beckham, Ronald MC Donald Darby, Nelson Agholor, and Zach Ertz. That roster is beast.                                              

Grant: Harry are you serious? There is no way bro we have xavier rhodes and they might put Teddy BridgeWater back in and he is a beast. The Vikings running back Latavius Murray lastly Stefon Diggs, and one more person Kyle Rudolph, Case Keenum.    

Grant: Well we don't know who is going to the SuperBowl, but good luck to all of the teams that we rooted for.

 What Is Student Council?

      Have you ever heard of Student Council at your school? Student Council is where you are a team and help out with the school and teachers.

If you have ever been in Student Council you would have to follow some rules like…

• Get all passing grades
• Be kind to everyone
• Be SAFE, RESPECTFUL, And RESPONSIBLE!

We have been raising money by doing some fundraisers like…

-Hurricane Harvey Wristbands

All this money goes to animal shelters for when Hurricane Harvey hit.  Many  animals lost their homes, need food, toys, and ,shelter.

-Naked Turkey Contest

The Naked Turkey money goes to the Village Elementary Movie Night! Village Elementary Movie Night is where your parents drop you off at the school. The teachers let  you  choose from five movies. After the movie’s over, the students go outside, and then your parents pick you up. Also, you can wear your pj’s.  

In addition, Village alumni high school students can  receive an academic scholarship.  To conclude, Village Elementary Student Council uses teamwork to achieve their goals!

     Coffee, Frappuccino, or NO!

  Have you ever been craving a coffee, frappuccino, or not? Well, Sophie and I did a survey on all of 5th grade and let’s see our results!

There are 27 people who like frappuccinos.

There are 7 people who like coffee.

And 9 people who don’t like either.

So, Sophie and I found out that people really like frappuccinos and some people don’t and that’s fine. So if you ever want to try one of them see how many people prefer most.

           Red Ribbon Week

        Red Ribbon week is about being drug free and we have events at school like wear red, wear your favorite sports jersey, wear your school T-shirt, my favorite-pj day, and last but not least: wacky clothes day; and most of the time these things are a blast.  But, that’s not all what Red Ribbon Week is about.  Now, I’m going to let my friend take over and talk more about Red Ribbon Week.

Ok, I know Red Ribbon Week sounds so fun, but it wasn’t always this fun. In response of the murder of DEA agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in          communities across the country began wearing red ribbons as a symbol of commitment to raising awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America. Now, back to Maddy .

Some of you might be asking what the red ribbon stands for?  Well, the red ribbon is a symbol that stands for drunk driving prevention,drug prevention, and blood disorders. To add on, the Red Ribbon Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving, AKA (MADD), are examples of organizations that utilize the red ribbon symbol.

Clubs

We interviewed Mrs. Decker about what she and GT are doing about clubs.

Question: What are the clubs about?
Answer: Well, Uh they are based off the kids’ ideas. So there are theater, cooking, and there are even some technology clubs.
Question: What will the 5th graders be learning in the clubs?
Answer: The different activities, like cooking, acting, and chess skills etc.
Question: What types of clubs are there?
Answer: Well, there are baking, Pokemon, debate, theatre, and coding.

Question: When will the clubs start?

Answer: We don’t know yet, but we hope soon. The teachers and I are actually going to get together this week.

In conclusion, we think that 5th grade will have lots of fun with the clubs.

Top 10 College Football Favorites

We are taking a survey of most of the 72 5th graders. We are taking the survey for the top 10

College football teams on week 9. Here are the results:

1. Alabama

3. Georgia                      

4. TCU                               

5. Wisconsin

6. Ohio State

7. Clemson

8. Miami

9.  Notre Dame

10. Oklahoma State

After our survey we calculated that about 30% of the 72  5th graders are going for Alabama.  Notre Dame was catching up but got out chosen by Alabama by 1 person. The least favorite team chosen was tied between Miami and Clemson.

The reason we did not add Oklahoma to the chart is because when we did the survey and nobody chose Oklahoma.

 Science Fair

The Science Fair is an opportunity for students to use the scientific method in a project about whatever you want.  Some ideas that you can use are: bouncing egg,density column, and does T.V rot your brain? I’m sure you're asking this question by now: Are their rewards?  The answer is yes! The first place winner in each grade receives a gold medal,and there is a participation award for everybody who tries. So, please be part of the Village Science Fair. And bring home the first place trophy.
