At Village Elementary we have a fifth grade  Business Fair every year to help raise money for our fifth grade field trip . The fifth graders make at  least 20 items to raise money for our field trip, and in doing so, we earned approximately $1,840. Some of the products sold in the fundraiser were slime, jewelry, decorated magnets, & reindeer food (oats & edible glitter {NOT for humans to eat}), ornaments, ect. The Business Fair is to help fifth graders learn about entrepreneurship and how to own our own business.

Most of the kids sold all of their items , and  we raised a large amount of money for the Fifth grade field trip. The items’ prices ranged around $1.00 to $10.00. Some of the items were wacky and funny, such as Dennie’s sleeping style pillow cases, Mattie’s fab bracelets, Brooke’s amazing pixel jewels, Mario’s jolly greeting cards, Samantha’s super slim, Shailey’s decorative wood blocks, Ashlyn’s fab phone holders, and Nate’s license plates bird houses.
Some of the previous fifth grade field trips were SeaWorld, Stunt Ranch, and Reunion Ranch. This year’s fifth grade field trip is going to be a surprise to the fifth graders.

So, overall we learned that the fifth graders love doing the Business Fair because ,it`s a fun way to get involved in helping your school, and learning about how to own our own business ,and how to be entrepreneurs.

Skating 101
By Shailey S. & Ximena A.

Ximena & Shailey ready to skate!
There is a lot of fun things we do here at Village Elementary. One of the most loved activities is Skating 101. It is only available for 3rd,4th,and 5th grades. Skating 101 is more than just fun,it’s also wonderful for teaching kids how to balance themselves. For Kinder,1st,and 2nd it’s exciting when they are finally old enough to skate. Sadly, skating has become less popular. So, it’s fun  to bring back this old hobby.

UIL is something that happens every year. UIL means (University Interscholastic League).  The University Interscholastic League is an organization that creates rules for and administers almost all athletic, fine arts, and academic contests for public, primary, and secondary schools in the state of Texas.  The University Interscholastic League was founded in 1910. UIL is optional for everyone.  At Village Elementary, we participate in most of the UIL activities.  I participate in Dictionary this year.  When you join UIL then your group gets a day to practice for the next 4 months. At  the  end  of  the  four  months  you  get  to  go  to  east  view  in  January  to  compete   against   other  schools.

Christmas Stroll
Written by Ryder C., Jake D.,  and Jayce R.
The Georgetown Christmas Stroll was on December 2nd and, it was a blast! The Village Show Choir performed at the stroll. They sang “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, and “Frosty the Snowman”. There were many fun games, places to shop, the Who Village, and a reenactment of Jesus being born. The rain and cold didn't ruin the fun. Mrs. Seaman  lead the Show Choir. The Christmas Stroll was amazing!
