Largest Birthstones

Garnet (Gar-net)


Month: January.
Referred to as: “Warriors’ Stone.”
How large is this specific stone?: It is 2.3 meters, 10 cubic meters in volume,
and weighed and impressive 35,000 KG!
Currently located at: I couldn’t find where it’s currently is, but it was found in
Norway.
Color(S): It’s most often a red color, almost black.
Fun fact!: It comes in many different shades except for blue! :D (Again, most
common in red.)

AMETHYST ( am-meh-th-eh-st)


Month: February.
Referred to as: “Empress of Uruguay.”
How large is this specific stone: It measures 3.27 meters tall… I couldn’t find
more information on the   
Width or weight.
Currently located at: Crystal Caves of Atheron.
Color(S): Violet/Purple/Amethyst.
Fun fact!: A tennis ball sized chunk was stolen from the stone.



Aquamarine (aq-oo-uh-muh-reen)


Month: March.
Referred to as: “Don Pedro Aquamarine.”
How large is this specific  stone?: It is estimated to be about 14 inches tall and
nearly 5lbs! (Pounds.)
Currently located at: It is located at The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
Color(S): Blue/Turquoise/Aquamarine/Cyan.
Fun fact!: Before, it was part of a stone that was 60lbs, but before being cut into
its shape, the miner that found the stone dropped it, therefore breaking into pieces,
this specific stone I am talking about was the largest shard found. 



Diamond (dI-mund)


Month: April.
Referred to as: “The Cullinan Diamond” or “The Great Star of Africa.”
How large is this specific stone?: This stone weighed roughly 1.4lbs!  It
is about the size of an average adult palm.
Currently located at: I couldn’t find where it is currently at but it was found in South Africa. 
Color(S): Silver/White/Clear/Pearly.



Emerald (Eh-mer-old)


Month: May.
How large is this specific stone?: Weighed roughly 840lbs!! Wow!!
Currently located at: It has been in many peoples’ hands, but I couldn’t find
the current person.
Color(S): Emerald green (DUH)/Green/Specifically this particular stone is a
deep dark green.
Fun fact!: It once showed up on Ebay.com!!


Pearl ( P-er-l)


Month: June.
Referred to as: It doesn't really have a name but the specific species of the pearl is called a ¨Clam Pearl.¨
How large is this specific stone?:  It weighs 14lb
Color(S): White/Pearl/Pastel blue/Pastel pink/grey.
Fun fact!: This pearl doesn’t look like the type of pearl you’re thinking of… It’s actually called a “Clam Pearl”. This specific pearl isn't a round ball that comes out of a clam; although this specific pearl is called a Clam Pearl, it’s more of a clam itself; It looks like a giant rockish-clam looking thing, but once you open it, it’s whole inside perimeter is covered in smooth, flat pearl, kinda like a geode...



Ruby ( roo-bE)


Month: July.
How large is this specific stone?: This stone is 150kg.
Currently located at: Dubai.
Color(S): Ruby/ Red/ Crimson/ ect.
Fun fact!: The first owner kept it for 20 years before selling it.


Peridot (Par-eh-dot)

Month: August.
How large is this specific stone?: This stone weighs 319 carats.
Currently located at: This stone resides in Smithsonian.
Color(S): Greenish-Yellowish/ Yellow.
Fun fact!: This stone “Helps against nightmares.”


Sapphire (Saf-I-er)


Month: September.
Referred to as: “Blue Giant of the Orient.”
How large is this specific stone?: this stone weighs an astonishing 1404.49 carats, equivalent to about 280g (just under 10
ounces). 
Currently located at: I believe it was found in Sri Lanka.
Color(S): True-deep blue i s the most common(Main) color, but it has
multiple varieties of every color. :)


Opal (O-pul)


Month: October.
How large is this specific stone?: This stone weighs amazingly 11,000 carats!!!
Currently located at: All I could find was that it was found in New South Wales.
Color(S): Opal can vary in many colors, mostly grey (base)  with all kinds of
iridescent colors on top and mixed in together, sometimes the base can be
white with pink accents.
Fun fact!: It was stored in a bucket before being discovered as an Opal stone. 



Topaz (t-O-pAH-z)


Month: November.
Referred to as: This specific stone is called “The American Golden Topaz.”
How large is this specific stone?: This stone weighs over 4.5 kilograms.
Currently located at: This stone is located in Brazil.
Color(S): Topaz can vary in many different colors but the main two colors
are grey and white, grey is more common. The white base usually has some
type of a pinkish tint.
Fun fact!: This specific Topaz was stored in a bucket for several years before
being discovered as a Topaz stone.



Turquoise (Ter-qu-oi-s)


Month: December.
How large is this specific stone?: This chunk of turquoise weighs around 191
pounds!
Currently located at: I know it was found in Nevada.
Color(S): Of course, turquoise/Cyan/A greenish-blueish-tint.
Fun fact!: The first  pieces of this specific chunk of turquoise were brought
to Europe by the Turkish.

  1. Hello, glad this site is still here. This makes me think of breath of the wild because of the natural resources in the game. Interesting topic to choose. :)
