                                   Volleyball
By: Sydney

Volleyball is one of the fastest growing girl's sports in the world. There are two different types
of Volleyball. There's indoor volleyball and outdoor sand volleyball.  Indoor volleyball was first
invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan after inventing basketball four years before. William G.
Morgan created volleyball by combining basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball. Sadly indoor
volleyball is not in the olympics, but outdoor sand volleyball is. Volleyball is usually started for
girls in middle school. Volleyball is getting more and more common so now there are more girls
starting to play rec volleyball or club volleyball or as some people call it select volleyball when
they are in elementary school . In club volleyball you have to tryout plus it is much harder then
rec volleyball. In rec volleyball you don’t try out and it is basically an introduction to volleyball
for newcomers. I play club volleyball now but I played two seasons of rec ball and a lot of clinics
from my club and some other clubs. Volleyball is a sport for both girls and boys. Usually the
levels of volleyball are rec, club, middle school, high school, collage, and pro.

HOW it Feels TO Do Martial Arts

Hi my name is Betty Floyd, and I do martial arts.
How it feels to do martial arts is amazing. I learned
how to defend myself,  learn not to bully, self control
and much more. Martial arts is hard some time but I
still like it.

There are different programs like Tigers, Beginners,
Leadership and many more programs. But there are
two programs I haven't talked about, black belt and
legacy. Legacy is an  advanced class, black belt is for
black belts. To continue, that means that you have a
different classes that are colored belts.

In conclusion, you will be confident,  self discipline,
stronger and make new friends.

Oli and I were sitting in class just thinking about an article to do. We
thought about making a dessert. Who doesn't love desserts? So, we thought
about it a lot and even did a class vote on it. Finally, we decided to make
delicious , homemade peanut butter cookies. These cookies only take about
thirty minutes to make and only use three ingredients!

Ingredients

¾  cup of sugar
1 cup of creamy (or crunchy) peanut butter
1 large, beaten egg

                                                    Directions

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Scoop level tablespoonfuls and
roll into balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets and flatten with a fork.

Bake at 350° for about 18 minutes or until set. They will firm up more after they are out of the oven. Then remove to wire racks to cool.

speech on how to  Apex Fun Run and give us
tags to explain how to donate money. You can
go online and have a relative donate money to
earn you a ton of great prizes! With the money
we earned, Village add on to our playground.
So have a great time next year, ‘’Apex Strong!’’
All About The Maker Space
                   Grace S. and Abrielle C.
The maker space is a room that was recently created in our school for
projects and S.T.E.M presentations. There are currently 2 maker spaces
in Village Elementary school.

The first thing you will see when you walk into the maker space, will be a
big white cabinet.  On that cabinet there will be loads and loads of supplies
including paper cups and plates, wooden craft sticks ( large and small),
paint, etc. Those supplies are available to use with your.teacher’s permission.

In the room you will also see a green screen.  In case you didn’t know what
the green screen is , it’s a green blanket like material.  So you could insert a
picture on the green screen in the background. For example,if you are writing
an article about a tropical island you could insert a picture of palm trees or that
tropical island.

On the other side of the supplies shelf there will be a table. On the table there
is a 3D printer.  This printer is for teacher use only. So for example if Mrs. Decker
needs to print out dice, she can draw a picture of a dice and then she will insert it
in the printer. It will stack up layers until it becomes a solid.  But, it will take awhile
to process.

There is also flexible seating in the maker-space. There are 3 carpets in the room
that you can sit on if you are not comfortable sitting on a chair.  There is also a futon,
green spiny chairs, a regular table you can sit ,and there is a tall table. As well, there
is a whiteboard you can use for projects.

The maker space is a great place in our school that you can use for big
projects, presentations, or even a place that helps you be creative.

Liverpool
        Ian W.
Hi my name is Ian W and I will be telling you about an English
soccer team called Liverpool. The team was made in 1892. Also,
in 1893 the team, Liverpool, joined the English Football League.
In fact, the team changed from red shirts and white shorts to all
red in 1964 which has been used ever since. As well, their away
color is all purple and their third color is wight. Either way, I
hope you like to go see one of the games for yourself.‍
