Top 3 Songs of the Month                                By: Andrew Hardt
This article is about  the Top 3 Songs of the Month.
Everyone loves music because  it is fun to listen to and sing, but these are the top three songs that  people in fifth grade like.

  1. Heathens By Twenty One Pilots
  2. Ju Ju on the Beat [clean version] By: Zay hilfiger and Zaylon Mc Call
  3. P.E.M.D.A.S by: Mister C

P.E.M.D.A.S is the order of operations in math: Parenthesis,Exponents,Multiply,or Divide,Add and Subtract it is as  easily as that to  use P.E.M.D.A.S to get it right.
Music affects people in different ways, if the music has a catchy rhythm and is upbeat it makes you happy, and if it is low and melancholy, then it makes you sad.
I prefer Happy music because it is Happy and makes you want to dance rather than cry.

For  God so loved  the world,  that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not  perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you ,plans to  give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

5th Grade
Comic Strips
Starring: Paul Revere
By:  Arianna Franco

“As soon as Paul walked into the battle, he was in trouble!”

Right now, in 5th grade, we are learning about the F-A-M-O-U-S… PAUL REVERE!!!!! In Mrs. knudsen’s class, we are making comic strips all about Paul Revere. Believe it or not, these comics are worth a lot of our grade! The boxes have to be PERFECT! Your coloring has to be good, and when you draw it can’t look sloppy! MMM MMM NO MA’AM IT CAN’T!!! I liked making the comics because it gives you a way to express yourself comically. Any of the people that are going to be in 5th grade next year, I hope you know what is coming!

The British are coming, the British are coming!!!!”- Paul Revere

Alamo
By: Arianna F Ashlyn S Samuel S

We wanted to interview Mrs.Seaman on The Alamo play because we all thought it was really cool. Here is what we got.

Journalists: How do you think they did?
Mrs.Seaman: I think they did amazing. Everyone knew their lines. Everybody worked together, and I think they had a great performance.
Journalists: What was your favorite part? Mrs.Seaman: I think my favorite part was each one of the characters really got into their character to believe that that was a real person that they were performing.
Journalists: Will you continue letting old Village people sing at the night program?
Mrs.Seaman: I think we started a tradition that I believe we should have more and more come back and do the ending song. That was amazing and fun and I think it brought everybody together and it made the students that performed happy and made the students happy.
Journalists: Will you do a sequel to the Alamo?
Mrs.Seaman: Yes, we can write the San Jacinto one day, yes.

That’s what we got from Mrs.Seaman. If you saw the Alamo play I hope you enjoyed it!

The Preamble of the
Constitution
by: Dave Entrekin

As you know, the first sentence of the U.S Constitution is called the Preamble. The Preamble of the U.S Constitution is,We the people Of the United States,in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, secure the blessings of liberty do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America. It turns out,in 5th grade at Village Elementary you have to memorize The Preamble of the U.S Constitution. I'm still studying the preamble but, I intend on saying it soon.  Quite a few people have said the preamble but still most have not.  The way the grading system works on this specific grade is, for every word you add or take away you lose 2 points.   Keep this in mind third and fourth graders.   I would recommend learning part of the preamble now so you don't have to do it later on.   In conclusion, this  is a good assignment for students to learn  the preamble of the US Constitution.
      5th grade Field Trip
                                       Brianna L , Ashley R , and  Caleigh W

The 5th grade field trip was super exciting for us 5th graders.  We got to do all sorts of wonderful things; like a planetarium, a walk through time, and a make and take.  All of the rollicking tour guides taught us so much about  sound waves, extinct animals, stars, and planets.

Then we got back on the school bus, to go eat lunch at a park. Then a Kona Ice, a snow cone  truck, came to give the whole 5th grade snow cones!!

Finally, when everyone was done eating their snow cones, we got to play kickball!! It was so fun because ¾  of the 5th grade was playing.  In fact ,the 5th grade is still playing kickball at recess and at PE!!

San Antonio River Walk
By: Shailey Stewart, Kate Smith, and
                   edited by Ava Lester
Have you ever gone to the San Antonio River Walk ? On the Riverwalk, you get to learn about the history of San Antonio, Texas, see beautiful sights, spend time with your family, and meet new people.
When you tour the San Antonio River Walk, you learn about the history of San Antonio, Texas. There are historical paintings on the sides of buildings that honor historical times of Texas History. The tour leader shows you land points on the way down the river. The tour leader gives you important information that you might not know. You will never believe all the wonderful historical sites you will experience with your own eyes!
Also, when you visit the San Antonio River Walk, you get to see beautiful sites. There are ducks, flowers, trees, and stores you can get wonderful gifts.  While on the boat, you go under bridges that have flowers on them(as shown below). While visiting you can enjoy some music. At twilight there are many lights so you can ride the boat and look at the attractions.

There is plenty of room on the boat for your family. You never have to ride on different boats but, on certain situations, you might need to tell the boat leader that your family wants to stay together. I’m certain they will let your family stay together. You won’t have any worries at all!
You also get to meet new people. There is lots of room on the boats, so it’s the perfect time to meet new people and get new friends. You could make lifelong friendships you never knew you could make. You can always make more than one friend.
On the San Antonio River Walk, you’ll have a great time catching up with old friends or celebrating your birthday. It’s the perfect place. You’ll never wear a frown if you are on the San Antonio River Walk.     Image result for san antonio riverwalk

The Village Carnival is fun for kids of all ages. One of the the fun things is to try to win the wonderful carnival baskets. They are with fun things to do and play with. Some have baking supplies and my favorite one is the Texas Longhorn Basket. You put tickets in the baskets that you would want to win.  For Example, there were a pasta basket, Georgetown Baseball Basket, and more.I hope you can come to the Village Carnival next year.:)
