Mrs.Brown

    POW!!  KAPOW!!  SUPER ARTY!!  BOOM!!
We wanted to tell about our favorite teacher, Mrs.Brown.  She is an interesting person that Village Elementary loves :) :)

ALL: Why did you want to be an ART teacher?
Mrs.Brown:I wanted to be a math teacher but I was majoring in ART.

Brianna: What do you love about ART?
Mrs.Brown: I like ART  because I like playing with the clay, you can get messy, and it is relaxing.

Ashley: What is your favorite project?  Why? Mrs.Brown: My favorite project is clay because kids enjoy playing with clay and making projects with clay.

Caleigh: What is the best grade to teach? Why?
Mrs.Brown: 3rd grade because they want to do everything and they can do the projects on their own.

Brianna:  Were you scared on your first day of work? Why?
Mrs.Brown: I was not scared on my first day, I was mainly scared of my son’s  first day of school.

Caleigh:Did you like having extra help? Why?
Mrs.Brown: I liked having extra help because I liked working with someone who knows how to do ART.  I had help because Ms.Girly wanted to be an art teacher and I was training her to be one.

Chase The Chief
By Ryder c.
The annual Chase The Chief is coming up on March 5, 2017. This year it will be held at GISD’s football stadium on Sunday. Before the race there will be a fitness competition using A.M.R.A.P (As many reps as possible). There will be a fun run for anybody who wants to be there for fun. Then there is the 5k run where you run a timed race as you try to beat the chief. There will be games, a obstacle course, there will be a police car to go inside, and free snacks and water bottles provided. If you beat the chief you get a special coin and a picture with the chief. Last year it got rained out but his year is rain or shine. 2017 Chase The Chief will be a blast!

 look great for the play!
Bum, Bum, Ba! You heard them singing. You watched them dance. You applauded their spectacular performance. What am I talking about? I’m talking about the third grade performance of Clowns!
From the marching band to the untamed lions, every character knew their part. During rehearsals, every third grader did their best to perfect their part. Though at first, there was a lot of tension. Scenes were constantly being stopped during rehearsal due to confusion. Even though it was tough, eventually all of the tension was lost. One of the reasons Clowns was incredible was because of rehearsals. Clowns was definitely an outstanding play that put the clown in everyone. The third grade was absolutely fantastic! No doubt about it, the third grade Clowns will be one of the highlights of this school year!

Berry Creek Fishing Report
By: Noah B. Alex M.
and Jack K.
The carp are really biting in Berry Creek this winter! We recommend fishing in the morning for the carp. Noah B. caught 3 carp in one day!!! The 2 baits we used for carp are bread and nightcrawlers. Some other good carp baits are sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, premo bait, and sweet corn pips. Come on outdoors to Berry Creek and  catch yourself some carp!

Cowboys VS. Packers
By: Noah B, Jack K, and Alex M.
The Cowboys Packers showdown is on Sunday the 15th at 3:40pm. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are on a seven game win streak. While the Cowboys led themselves to a first round bye, and home field for the playoffs. Earlier in the season the Cowboys beat the Packers 30-16, and Dak Prescott had 3 touchdown passes and 247 pass yards. Aaron is hot with no interceptions since week ten in the regular season. Cowboys have some advantages on defense this upcoming week. Jordy Nelson the Packers best receiver got hurt vs. the Giants with a rib injury. For the Packers to win they need to stop the leading rusher in the league Ezekiel Elliott. The Packers also need to get past Dallas’ best in the NFL offensive line. The Packers need to put pressure on Dak Prescott to force him to throw bad
throws.

Who will win?  Cowboys or the Packers?

Recess Trends

By Ashlea R. & Mattie T.
At Village Elementary we like to play “Andy’s Coming”. There are multiple different versions of this game, but this one is personally our favorite. It’s a recess favorite as well. Even the custodians play! Andy’s Coming is when someone says “Andy’s Coming!”,then we fall to the ground. The game came from the movie, Toy Story.  In the movie, Woody says “ANDY’S COMING!!!!!!!”  The toys all dropped to the ground.  For example, Mr.Johnson is coming(this is one that we came up with) is when we hold our hand up and say “Who are you?”. Who are you? Means when you don’t write your name on a paper and Mr.Johnson writes ‘Who are you?’ in red ink and really BIG on our paper.
