The Comeback of a Lifetime!
Super Bowl LI
By:Ryder C. Noah B.
Super Bowl LI was a close game, it was also the first Super Bowl to ever go into overtime. After the first quarter the score was even at 0-0. During the first quarter break, I guess the Falcons had a good pep talk because in the second quarter they scored 28 points; holding the Patriots at 3. At halftime, the Falcons and Patriots fans had fun while Lady Gaga sang. The third quarter was still devastating for the Patriots’ fans because they scored only one touchdown with a missed extra point. The Patriots would have to make a miracle comeback to win. After the third quarter, everyone thought it was over, but clearly that’s not what the Patriots thought. It would be the biggest comeback of all time in Super Bowl history. On the Patriots first drive of the fourth quarter, the Patriots only scored a field goal. The next drive for the Falcons was a disaster. Quarterback, Matt Ryan, fumbled the ball and the Patriots were already in field goal range. The Patriots had a good drive after the fumble and got a touchdown and a two point conversion. The Patriots comeback was becoming successful in Super Bowl LI. For the Falcons, next drive they were in field goal range to clinch the Super Bowl, and all the Falcons had to do hold the position at the 30 yard line. Matt Ryan got sacked at the 40 yard line, but were still in field goal range. The next play on third down the Falcons had a holding penalty, and that knocked it out of field goal range. So, they had to punt. The Patriots had to make a game tying drive, 91 yards down the field. Then the Patriots made game changing touchdown with a two point conversion which led to the first Super Bowl overtime ever. Finally, the Patriots made a game winning touchdown with the biggest comeback in super bowl history!
